The Writing Through the Body™ course is a pre-recorded DIY video course that offers in-depth instruction on this unique and effective method, based on the seven main chakras of the body.

Writing Through the Body™ is designed to assist you with deep character development, whether you’re writing a novel, a memoir, or a non-fiction self-help/how to book.

Writing Through the Body focuses on characters…

…because story ALWAYS begin with the people.

We can’t move forward with a book of any kind in earnest until we truly understand the people involved – the fictional characters in novels, the real-life characters in memoir, and the Ideal Reader (and you, the author, if you plan to weave in your own story) in non-fiction, self-help books.

Deep character development takes you inside the mind, heart, and soul of your people, and in the end, it will save you precious time.

Who Writing Through the Body is For

Beginning and intermediate writers who want to learn how to create deeply considered, human-like characters using this method and to expand their understanding of writing craft.

Seasoned writers who want to enhance and evolve their writing practice, especially with regard to deep character development.

Novelists – know your characters from the inside out

Memoirists – know yourself and others profoundly

Non-fiction/self-help authors – know your Ideal Reader’s mind, heart, and soul

What Writing Through the Body Is

A pre-recorded DIY video writing course that

    • teaches deep character development, using the traits and expressions of the seven main chakras of the body.
    • teaches the basics of writing craft, specifically: backstory/setting, description, characterization, antagonists/supporting characters, dialogue, interior monologue, and point of view.
    • provides copious handouts and examples, prompts, and writing exercises, and an accompanying clearing meditation for each module.

So you can write your book and tell your stories.

What Writing Through the Body Is Not

A group program that provides 1:1 communication with and/or feedback from Johnnie. (One is in the works, though!)

A course that teaches you how to start your book (Conjuring Clarity does that!)

A platform for critique of your work. (Johnnie offers services to help with this!)
