If you’re a tuned-in, sensitive creative
(empath, intuitive, HSP, neurodivergent)
who longs for silence, serenity, and stillness,
this challenge is for you.

So, why a “do nothing” challenge?

A few reasons…

FIRST…

My desire to create this challenge for you came from my own chronic need for peace and quiet. As sensitives in an over-stimulated world, our psyches and nervous systems can easily become exhausted. To be able to tune in and create, we need consistent, regular moments of calm and serenity.

SECOND…

In my travels to Italy, I became enamored with the Italians’ custom of closing up shop for at least two hours in the afternoon to go home, relax, read, nap… whatever they need in that moment.

And then I learned about Ferragosto.
August 15 is the official day to celebrate this Italian holiday, named after Emperor Augstus, who deemed August 1 as a day of rest after weeks of hard work in agriculture. Seeing the need for more rest, the people of Italy, over time, extended this day of rest to go on holiday during the month of August.
For some, it’s a week to ten days.
For others, it’s the last half of August or the entire month.

Now, that’s the way to live…

This challenge is
an homage to Ferragosto.

THIRD…

Mercury will be retrograde for most of August.

What better time to put on the brakes, slow down, and rejuvenate?

How it works

Every day from Sunday, August 11 through Saturday, August 17, you’re encouraged to take at least 30 minutes (60 is even better) to “do nothing.”

The idea is to unplug, tune out the world, tune in to yourself, and just BE….

Each day, I’ll email you do nothing “activities, but of course, you’re welcome to simply sit, daydream, stare into space… Then, respond to the email and tell us about your do nothing activity. What you did, how it went…

At the end of the week, we’ll compile a list of everyone’s activities — names removed, of course — and send them to you so you’ll have a resource to refer to anytime you need a reprieve.
